Artist Statement

Kathi Herrin

Art is a universal language that unites us all in a conversation that is understood on a deeper level than that of just words.

For me, it is a release of energy in a visual expression in multi mediums. My mediums vary with the project that I feel drawn to. I maintain a wide open view of how I will translate a project not limiting my medium or style to any particular category. I am open to 2d and 3d projects. I have rendered works both 2D and 3D in various mediums over my career as a visual artist that include 35mm and Digital Color and Black/White Photography, Encaustic, Acrylic, Collage and Mixed Media. The end products resonate with viewers sometimes on a very personal and emotional level. I am always surprised and delighted with the feedback. My newest love is working with clay. I am producing hand built and wheel thrown functional, non-functional and sculptural pieces entitled Clay Works by Kathi Herrin.
